Summer Book Club: In Pieces by Rhonda Ortiz

On Thursday, July 20, 2023, at 7:00 p.m. EDT, I’ll be facilitating a Catholics Read book club meeting. We’ll be chatting about Rhonda Ortiz’s debut novel, first in the Molly Chase series, In Pieces (Chrism Press).

This historical novel set in colonial Boston, while a romance, has wide appeal. There are rogues, spies, gossipy hens, and crusty sailors. More than that, there’s a lot to contemplate on duty, marriage, family, faith, dignity, conscience, and the pursuit of truth. Those are the kinds of things I hope we’ll talk about. And whatever YOU want to discuss!

Book Clubs: How to Start One, Where to Find Books

As the temperatures cool and the days shorten, the prospect of cozying up with a good book is more and more appealing. (That is, if you need an excuse to enjoy a good book.)

The back-to-school season is marked by new routines and new ventures, and if you’re looking to read more books or make new friends, a book club may be just what you’re looking for.

Find a Group

You may be able to find an active group at your local library, church, or by asking friends. If you have no luck with in-person groups, search for some online options on Goodreads or Facebook.
